Roy Rodgers: That has been my understanding also. My 261 has the plug, that obstructs the oil gallery to force oil through the filter, flush with the surface of the boss. I believe that is the no-filter position. The bosses that would hold the pipe fittings for the filter are plugged. I suppose I could move the plug to the external-filter position and find a suitable external filter. I also might let sleeping dogs lie. I'll look at the bearings in a few days. That might give me a further opinion on filters.
