If I ever decide to build a full flow 261, I'm going to plumb the filter with hard copper lines and silver soldered fittings, like a HVAC system uses. Like you, I don't trust flex lines, except maybe the single braid high pressure style used on 3K PSI hydraulic systems. Even then, I would use 6" long pipe nipples screwed into the block to get past the exhaust pipe before connecting the flex lines. Forget the warning buzzer- - - -wire a "normally closed" pressure switch to the oil gallery that kills the ignition if oil pressure is lost. Lots of the big rig Diesel engines I worked with for years had a similar system so low oil pressure or high coolant temp would kill the engine.
