I really don't understand the motivation for many of these projects.
If the idea is to "think outside the box", someone already did that (many times). Re-inventing the wheel proves nothing.
If the idea is to go fast, using a Chevy 235 or 393 L6 instantly doubles the budget and halves the return.
If you want cheap power, get an LS. But people do that all the time.
I have certainly done projects in an unusual way just because I wanted to be different.
