There is another factor which affects any engine: how many cylinders draw from the same carburetor at the same time?
For 8 or more, the usual calculation (D × RPM × VE ÷ 3,456 for 4 bbl. carburetors) is accurate enough.
For an L6 with a single carburetor on a common (plenum) manifold it's different.
Without 500 words of explanation (as it appears in my book http://victorylibrary.com/235BK.htm), just take my word for it.
Add 10% to the total.

For fewer cylinder (at the same displacement) the correction is higher.
