If you think about it, the scored drums after the new shoes wear in have more braking surface. Back in another life when I had access to a brake lathe, and a lot of other cool tools, I turned the ridge off many a drum just to make it easier to get off next time. The company I worked for insisted that they be turned completely smooth so that’s what we did to customers drums.ðŸ›
