Everything I have ever read on the 292, poor fuel mileage is the number one complaint. Never heard any one complain about lack of power. UPS ran hundreds of them in the package delivery trucks, so they are tough.

99% of time, when modifying an engine, you move the torque and hp band higher up the rpm scale. So use any additional work, you need to run the higher rpm, so guess what happens to your fuel mileage and low rpm torque?
