The manual is must. This is a relatively straightforward common sense repair and rebuild - using basic tools and sometimes a BFH. Devestechnet.com is a help as well as the Tech tip written here by some experienced Bolter's. For me, it was best to remove and rebuild the driveline with all new wear parts (seals, bearings etc) , including the axles, differential, and the torque tube seals and bushings on my bench. I did this for my 50 Suburban and current 41 truck project. If you have an email address I can send you some pictures of the process. I'll check your profile.
