The jack stands are now located on the frame rails. The truck sits so much lower with them off of the axle! It really cuts down on my movement under the truck. Oh well, no turning a blind eye to safety!
Anyway, it looks like I'll still need to lower the torque tube to make space for the rear of the transmission. As it sits right now, there isn't enough space to move the transmission backward so that the input shaft can clear the clutch cover. If I'm missing something, please someone, chime in! This is all a first for me. I've never separated a u joint, removed a transmission or an engine. So all hints/tips are welcome.
