Amen, hallelujah, and praise the Carl - I reckin my well-maintained 1960 261 school bus engine had 100,000-200,000 miles on it when I got it in 1972 (it had been sitting in Leon's Auto Parts for several years). It's was a well-maintained engine and its main bearings were bored 0.060. I bet it had been "rebuilt" at least 3 times (in regularly scheduled maintenance).
