I'd like to add a bit of experience here .
On my '40 , I have some wheel movement . I thought it was the bearing adjustment as I have done the kingpins.
After fiddling around for a bit (with the bearing adjustment
) I discovered that the outer bearing location (diameter) on the spindle is a little under size , just a few 'thou. But it is enough to give a deceptive reading of wheel movement at the outer dia of the tyres even with the bearings fully tight.
