You do not have a '52 235. A 3836848 head will only fit on '53 and later full oil pressure 235s.
There is a date casting on the block above/behind the starter.
I will bet a donut to a dollar (inflation has caused the juxtaposition of nouns in that metaphor) that you do not have an oil distributor on the driver's side of the engine, which means that you have a full pressure 235 and not a babbit bearing engine.
