You should consider swapping to the earlier model water pump that places the fan centered on the radiator. It requires a conversion plate that Pre 68 Dave sells on Ebay, and drilling and tapping two holes in the front of the engine block. It allows the 216 and early 235 water pump to be used on the later model block.
