First welcome to the Stovebolt and congrats on your "new" truck. It will bring you hours of frustration but years of enjoyment.
Questions such as what you ask should be posted in the garage forums as that is where all the "tech" stuff goes on. Not much happens here in the Welcome center.
However, I think most agree to join the gasket in the middle bottom and I usually put a dab of the 3M or other caulking in the joint.....if needed. A word to the wise here is don't cut it to short. Allow a little "extra", say a quarter of inch as the gaskets always seem to shorten once the glass is wedged in and all in place...or at least that has been my experience. Other wise you will likely end up with a gap between bigger than you'd think.
Use some lubricant like windex, or dawn dish detergent ect to help getting it set in place.
