I have used rubber grader blade mat'l that comes 1" by 4" by length. Check w/ nearest snow plow garage. I use rubber on both ends of box.

Your truck truck looks nice, however, I question if you have enough room, lengthwise, for an additional transmission. Each driveshaft usually takes 18" length to allow for axle movement, Jeeps and others can get by with less, life is shortened.
