Get an ultrasonic cleaner. They are big and cheap and will fit the fuel bowl/cover of a carb.
It will clean to bare metal quickly.
Yellow Chromate plating is moderately cheap and easy. Lots of places do it. A carb fuel bowl and cover should be about $100 to do.
