I throw carburetors into my Kwikway parts tumbler. I use old bearings, nuts etc for media. About 10 minutes in the parts tumbler and they come out looking good.
I bought a carburetor on eBay several years ago that looked good in the picture. When I got it and looked inside, it looked like a car that's been driving on the beach. You never get rid of all the sand.
