Pictures of the left patch installed. I still have some hammer & dolly work to do after I weld in the inner mounting piece- and I'll have to weld that pesky corner split. I ended up splitting all three attempts at that spot, but at least it's hidden. I need a lot more practice. BUT, everything lines up, will mount to the step, & measures out correct. Solid metal there now...
Paint shop says they have some metal bondo or something they'll use to smooth it out before painting anyway. That doesn't hurt my feelings at all on my first patching attempt- I expect the other side fender to be a lot easier.
Enjoyed the work & hope to get a lot better. (Saved a bunch of money, too
