If your carburetor body is actually warped,that will cause enough of a vacuum leak,to display the symptoms you mention. There are a couple of instructional video's on youtube,about the Rochester Bs',and how to "true" the halves,to alleviate the warp.By using a vacuum gauge,you'll find out if you have a (vacuum) leak in a hurry. you will get a poor reading,at best,or the needle will fluctuate,and not stay steady. I couldn't get a "good' reading,using the vacuum port on the firewall,either. I had to plumb into the intake,at the base of the carburetor.That fuel drop at the bottom of your linkage MAY be a torn accelerator pump leather.
