The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline No brakes - which direction should I go?

I'd replace all brake parts with original specification/style brake parts.

wheel cylinders
bleeders
master cylinder
brake lines/hoses
shoes & hardware installation kits
drums turned
(check the front wheel bears - re-grease and/or replace if needed)

Be careful with all the brass blocks, clean and re-use them if there are no cracks in the seats.

I have always used the original brakes and have never had any problems, including emergency stops from high speeds (60mph+).
