The worst part of the restoration was block sanding all that flat sheet metal! Many holes for ladder hooks, CBs, clearance lights, etc had to welded up and made to disappear under that black paint!
I almost hated to remove the ancient Olds motor and hydro but they were done for, and I wanted a truck to be able to haul an occasional engine or tow a trailer.

Did you " fade " the paint at the bottom of the door, or is that just shadow I am looking at ? | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 328 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 328 | Thanks, Guys

The gold is not faded. It is a shade called "Pacifica Gold". Has a dark maroon pin stripe to separate the colors at the belt line.

Still a work in process …… Trying to spruce up the cargo area this winter & plan on installing A/C by the time the HOT weather gets here. I'm going to try to use a standard GM A6 compressor that was on the Buick motor originally, but mate it to an aftermarket unit like Vintage Air, etc…. Since the motor already has the compressor brackets on it & the third pulley is in alignment with the stock unit…I just thought it would eliminate re-engineering that part of the job… Not everybody uses a small block Chevy!!
The truck now has almost 600 miles on it ..runs cooler and cooler as the rings and bearings break in.
Thanks again for all your compliments! mike
