The following is for a negitive ground system. 1. The ampmeter NEVER goes between the starter and battery. 2. The (+) side of the ampmeter goes to battery solenoid/battery. 3. The (-) side of the ampmeter goes to the (BATT.) post on your altenator and some accessories like horn relay and light switch. Hope this helps.
