Hello all,
It is has been a while since I have posted anything about my truck. Yesterday she came home after being in a shop so today I put the truck on jack stands and then crawled underneath to have a look and document her first day home. After going through and taking pictures, it seems she is no further along than when she went in. Yeah, there were a few things added and moved but for the amount of money that was paid, you’d think she’d move on her own power. The wiring is still not finished, gauges were not installed, both headlights are now missing…. she is just in a sad state. My ole girl has been through a lot but it didn’t get her anywhere.

With her last two shops, I have lost all confidence in taking her any where else. You can bet I will be getting a hold of the last shop to voice my dissatisfaction.

Now that I have vented, I can move on....

To be honest, I don’t even know what to do, I am just sooo disappointed that I do not know where to go from here.
I am looking for some suggestions, comments, pointers, and recommendations.

Bread, I can tell you've been working on since you came by my house so don't qive up now. We have ALL been at your stage of the resto right now. You've came to far to turn back now. Stop, take a deep breath and get back on it. Do some small stuff that you can complete and get back motivated. You can do it.
Remember, this what Stovebolters are here for. No matter what the problem a good place to start is right here. Even if it takes asking the same question 14 different ways and 15 different pictures we're here to help you figure it out. Many times the work you do is more satisfying than what others can do. When its something you have to "farm out" be sure you go over it three times so the shop knows exactly what is to be done. Get it in writing if you want. If they refuse to do that then move on up the street.
You may get some satisfaction out to the guy but I wouldn't bet on it. Best action sometimes it to "move forward".
We're here to help. Pick something to do and give us a shout in the appropriate forum. YOU CAN DO IT!

Bread.....while working on my '40, I had days when I just threw up my hands and walked away. My inspiration came from just looking at her, sitting on the jack stands - those big fat fenders and running boards - what a cool truck. After a week, I'd be back at it. Hang in there !

You have always been an anchor, mentor, and a good person to talk to. Thanks for the advice, it has helped take a step back and re-assess the situation.

I gave the girl a towel bath and see where I could start working on her. I came up with completing the wiring. It is about 90% done; from the looks of it, the headlight, front signal lights, both tail lights, headlight switch, and the gauges need to be connected along with the sending unit on the gas tank. So, I am going to be hanging out at the electrical bay and read up on the older posts.

Again, thanks for the words of encouragement and I am open to any comments, suggestions, advice, and pointers.
