Happy to find this site. Just bought a 1954 3100. I've wanted one since I was a little boy (over 40 years). My Papa (great-grandfather) used to drive me in his 1st Series '55 to the mill and around the farm. Now, I'm driving my grandson in my '54! I plan on keeping it until I can't shift the three on the tree anymore. It has a newer 235 engine that runs smooth and the truck is in excellent condition. Not a show truck, about a 10 foot paint job, but I plan on driving it around town and in parades and just having a blast. Thanks for the opportunity to share my joy!

Welcome to the Stovebolt, kpwhubert. That's a nice story. You should tell it in the DIY forum, along with a picture so Peggy can put it in the Gallery.

Just what part of N.C. are you in? Close to Shelby? If ever down here close to Spartanburg the hot dogs and Pepsi are on me! Come on down.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome hubert, nothing beats driving your grandson around in a 60 year old truck. They don't need to be show trucks to have a big smile on your face. Just enjoy it!
