Now, I think it's hard to beat the sound of a Chevy V8 with Dual One chamber Flowmasters and 3"exhaust from the collectors back.

That's what I run with an "H" pipe. Sounds great at 2000rpm cruisin the streets.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 1,847 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 1,847 | yes, put the mufflers as far back as you can get them, I actually ended up with 4 mufflers, a set of cherry bombs up pretty much directly under the cab, which sounded just awful. So I got some generic 18" magnaflows which due to packaging constraints ended up AFTER the rearend, it is very nice now, if not a bit TOO quiet. I am pretty sure I could just take the cherry bombs out with little or no effect, but it just doesn't really matter that much to me. On a side note, the magnaflows which aren't really the cheapest items that can be had. Needed to be welded up at various seams right out of the box, as this pesky little detail was missed at the factory. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 | I have a split stock manifold, 2.25" ID pipe and pair of 30" Smithy's under the cab. Boy was it loud. lol. Slipped in a pair of Khrome Werks 2.25" OD HP Plus drag pipe baffles right after the glass packs and it now sounds perfect. If I decide to go quieter, I'll slip in a second pair of the same baffles turned 90° immediately after the first set.
