Hi everyone---glad to have found this great site. I have been a "car nut" since age 5 (1950), thanks to my big brothers. The barn holds some old sports car, a couple of 50s/60s Volks and Morris Minor as well as hot rods. The recent addition is a 51 Chevy pickup which was crashed before we dragged it home. Looking around for sources, I found this site. Hope to keep learning and maybe eventually be able to contribute. Thanks. John

Don't know if you folks heard of the TV show 'Wheeler Dealer'? They recently had a morris minor on and spent time 'wielding the spanners'. Came out nice. They made all new wood for it. Interesting car.

Really get a kick out of the Brit's terms for things---like when you read in a manual "...offer up the pump to its housing..." Makes you think you should be wearing religious vestments!!! All great fun and learning.

Welcome John, it's a great hobby and lots to learn, especially on this site. I hope the crash wasn't too severe. Good luck with it.

Welcome to the Stovebolt, John. Anyone owning an old Chevy or GMC this is THE place to be. You can find help here to fix up the damaged pickup and make a lot of good friends along the way.

Now, how about some pics of the truck .... and those hot rods smile

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I'll have to set up a photobucket or snapfish soon to show pictures I guess. It will take a while for me to figure it out---find engine/auto work much easier than computer work!
