Trying to figure out what size tires and rims will best fit a 1936 chevy with original rear fenders?

The original tire size was 5.50 x 17, the wheels were six lug artillery or the optional wire...

I like the 215x70R 15's..... or the 235's. Depending on what your running under the hood smile or the stance your looking for.

I don't like using two different sizes and won't the next time but for now my 37 has 235's on the rear and 215's on he front. Been running those sizes on it for about 15 years.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

It depends a lot on your ride height and track width. The only way to know what will fit is for you to measure the room you have with your wheel offsets, etc.

When I did mine, tire guy actually mounted 17" wheel I wanted with 275 tire so I could confirm clearances front and rear.
