Are the exhaust bolts and clamps the same for a '38 216 to a '62 235? The spacings really tight between 1 and 2, and 5 and 6 on the inner flange that the others fit on. It looks like a longer bolt would allow clamping on what appears to be an outer flange.
If not, is there a kit?
Thanks!
Tom

Not sure what you're asking, exhaust to head bolts of exhaust pipe to header? Clamps? You should use a 235 manifold vs. the 38 for sure, but you could make the 216 work with 235 but not the best set up.
Best of luck
Jim

Sorry about the confusion! Exhaust/intake manifold to head bolts and clamps. Between cylinders 1-2, and 5-6 it's too tight to get a socket in there. Is there a difference in the clamps and washers between 216 and 235? Trying to avoid doing it twice!
Thanks!
Tom

On my 37 truck with a 56 235, I had to resort to box end wrenches to tighten the manifold bolts you are talking about. It's slow & a real pain but I finally got them tight.

I had to do the same on my 54... it WAS a pain, and tedious. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
