I am considering a 12 volt wiper motor conversion for my '54 panel. I have seen prices from $130-$180 in the major catalogues. I don't want to just shop price. Is there anything in particular that I need to know? Or are there any units I should stay away from? Thanks as usual.

If you are, and your truck is a 1954 Chevrolet, I think that there are no aftermarket electric wipers that will mount with the original radio/speaker in place (if you have a GMC, it is no problem). | | |

I regret not spending the extra for the intermitment function. I had a little trouble getting it adjusted right at first, but once I got everything set its been perfect.

Just my .02$ worth.
I had a Newport Engineering unit that I installed in another vehicle. Supposedly it was designed as a direct bolt in replacement for the vacuum OEM wipers. Well after hours and hours of work, throwing out the hardware that came with the kit, etc. I finally got it in and working. Yep it worked fine after I finally got it installed, but would I ever buy another Newport Engineering product....No thanks..I'll buy someone elses design.

Only thing was, I had to move the switch, as it would no longer fit into the original hole. | | |
