Should have a 270ci. GMC 6 cylinder engine in it. If it hasn't been removed, there should be a "GMC Service Parts Identification" tag, on the back of the glove box lid, with all of the trucks info. on it. Such as, engine size, type transmission, type axles, type brakes, etc. Looks good. '37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I think it was used for road construction. It has the rounded nose. Not sure about the landing gear. Will take pics next week.

Dunno if this link will work, but here goes. Google maps ground view shows it when it still had a truck out front, it's since been towed up the hill (looks to have a few trailers and trucks up there from the overhead view).

In the old days we had to make lots of phone call and countless road trips chasing down leads on the next project or part.
