I am new to both the forum and car repair... I bought a 1950 3800 a few weeks back with the intention of fixing it up with my kids. ( they Are still really young but never too young I figure)
I am less concerned about fixing the mechanical, but the bodywork is what is keeping me up nights. :) overall I would say she is pretty complete, but the usual trouble spots on a work truck like this; back fenders are beat, and the floor of the cab from the seat forward is shot.
I expect I will either track down new parts/panels, but welding/cutting/metalwork is not my thing.
Anyone else start in a similar predicament? I don't even know where to go to get help for things like this. Just trial and error, or save up and pay someone?

Or maybe pay a tutor. Then you can teach it to the kids later on. Also other than online you could find a person to tutor in the body repair or classes again. Just some thoughs. Personally I don't think trying to fix rusted fenders is worth it. Less its only a few dime size areas.

I had to replace both cab corners, one inner, both rockers, both sides of the floor, both side cowls inner and outer. and a bunch of small stuff. so dont get discouraged you can always learn something new. and there are plenty of people here with lots of help!
