I was thinking maybe a straight-thru glass-pak or something. I don't want real quiet, but not to loud either...Where's a good place to get one?..TIA

I put a set of maganaflo's all the way at the back and it is almost too quiet now. But at the same RPM it gives a nice tone now. Dual pipes will not make a performance difference, a little sound change is about all they do. Also pipe size matters, 2" would be maximum for a single exhaust system. Placing the muffler back at the axle will give a deeper tone and less ( rap rap ) then placing the muffler under the cab, it's long tail pipes give the inline six its distinctive sound.

When cleaning things up and making things more efficient, its the first thing guys remove. Good grief! Im really getting too old for this s!!!!.

I like a nice tone, but it is exactly the rap, rap that was anything but nice, abhorrent would be more like it. My original plan was to install the muffler right at the front of the bed , behind the cab, now it looks like I'll be getting another piece of pipe ( it's 2" dia) and moving the muffler on back towards the rear axle...
I can't really understand why it would make any difference, but you guys say so...it must be true...Thanks | | |
