SO my assembly manual has no information around how to secure the upper/side glass channel.

Is it screwed in at the top?

Use sealer/adhesive?

I took time to try get mine "bent" just right then I used a small screw where it comes up out of the door shell then in the corner and at the end near the wing vent. They do not interfere with the window rolling up and down. So far, so good.

I did like Alvin. I even took the clips that were designed for it off. Then I studied the door frame and picked spots that were double walled and carefully drilled and tapped some 10/32 allen electronics component screws. tight and secure.
Also there is a slot at the bottom the end slips into.

I have three small holes already on the top that are used for that. I was thinking maybe some 3M Weatherstrip sealer may also help. But I I see no leftover residue like this sealant was used previously.

I will use the screws first and see how that goes.

....as CASO mentioned. Be sure the end of the channel is tucked in the clip at the bottom of the metal channel guide that is down in the door on the hinge side. If not it'll be flopping around when the window is up and may give trouble later on.
Let us know how things go.

In searching for a way to re-install the door window glass I came across this thread and though I would add my 2 cents

What I did was notch about 3/4 inch out of the side of the channel where it butts the wing frame , I will slide it in before I tightened it up . The wing holds it up and in .

Now , does anyone have the procedure for re-installing the window glass ?

My guess is that I need to loosing up the wing assembly and move it forward some to get the glass in ??????

Also when installing a new glass track do you just center it up on the bottom ?

Thanks Dan

You will need to completely remove the vent window assembly according to the Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual.

Yep, I had to remove my vent window to get my glass out a few weeks ago.

Carl , I looked in the shop manual before I asked this question what section is it ? I figured it needed to come out..... How about the placement of the bar on the bottom , I also figure that the window floats so it is not that critical is this so ?

Thanks
Dan

The bar at the bottom is self-centering I believe.
To have the big glass fit the opening when closed, you leave the screws slightly loose at the track at the bottom, then roll the window up, then tighten the screws.
