What would be a good price for replacing floor in a 51 3100, including firewall.

Are you asking what a body guy would charge to do the work, or the price of the parts, less your tool costs to do it? Either way, I think you need to tighten the question up a bit.

Folks here have a wealth of experience and can help you if you provide left and right limits.

Best,

Jim

back when I purchased my new floor pans they were about $55 each side. Today I suspect they're 60 bucks or so. A decent body shop guy will charge you around 45 per hour. I purchased the floor pans that had half the toe board all in one piece. Would that work for you? Check out the vendors.
(if the ENTIRE firewall is to be done then I have no idea except the hourly rate they charge)

Where did you get the floor board replacements that have 1/2 the toe board? Mine has some pinholes right where the floor and toe board meet, the floors are thin in areas too, would love to find this replacement saves cutting out the upper toe which is usually ok.

Chevy Duty sells the floor pan with a bit of the toe board already attached...... I forget what they had to change their name to now, but if you type in Chevy Duty in the search it comes up.

At the time I purchased mine I believe The Truck Shop in Ca. had them and maybe the best price? Since your in Washington the freight may not be that bad either.
I'm sure most dealers sell them now. The one John is speaking of is now Classic Parts of America.

Here is Truck Shop...page 56 with 1/2 toe board $58 each side

Here is JCarter without the toe board

EDIT: either I missed it or American Classic doesn't have it????

sstock - How do you save on tax by buying in California? I have items I'd like to buy and their local tax is murder...unless you mean that it is cheaper than what you pay in Washington.

Thanks for any help.

Scott

I call and order/pay for it from Washington State, then pick it up on the way through.

Well lets see if I can help you help me. Replace floor the (bottom of the cab) left to right side to side. Cut out firewall and replace with fresh metal (no holes). Went to the iron yard and picked up the metal. Did not put enough info here at first, not interested in patch panel prices or Vendors, just what would one charge to replace floor and firewall (labor only) Thanks !!

Got it.

I'm too new to metal work to reply on this, but I know our experts will chime in soon.

Either way, I would LOVE to see it when you're done! Sounds like it's going to be a nice tidy firewall setup.

Best of luck and thanks for the clarification,

Jim

I have replaced two floorboards/toe boards. I used the store bought patch panels. The one with the toe board section attached was easier to install. I thought about making my own from scratch until I looked at how the floorboard is attached to the rocker panels. They are fanged to fit over the rocker panels and I didn't have a way to make those bends. This factory design is part of the uni-body construction and is crucial in maintaining structural integrity of the cab. If you just cut a flat piece of steel and spot weld it in place, it may not be structurally sound. By the way, we hear a lot about poor fitting replacement panels. Not the case with these pieces. They fit like a glove.
