My son and I were invited to an invitational car show held in Machesny Park (Rockford), IL. He showed his '69 Pontiac GTO Judge and I showed the '49 Suburban. The show was held in an abandoned Menards building out of the weather. It was a 3-day show over a weekend. He won Best Original Muscle Car and I won Best Post-War Modified Truck. I'm the one with no hair.

Congratulations, Weeds (and Son).

The link you gave is probably only for private/member viewership. I also checked your public picasweb albums and could not find it.

I'll bet you were both grinnin' from ear to ear on the way home. Congratulations. Having ridden in your truck, I know how sweet it is and deserving of the award.

Weeds, congratulations. You certainly earned, and deserve it. I told Karla that she had ridden in an Award Winning surburban when we were up there and she just smiled smile Said to tell you and Poly hello.... and she still has the bug to get her pilots license!!

How is the Pontiac coming along?

I fixed the link for the old man. (I'm not the kid who won the trophy though) Try it again, everybody.

Alvin, I am not exactly kicking butt anymore. My back has hurt all my working life and now I have the shingles on the left side of my face and in my eye.

Went to the surgeon that did the 2 surgeries on my back, told me that there isn't much more he could do for me. He allowed as how old age is catching up with me. He had me fitted with a back brace which does absolutely no good.

I guess I will just keep plugging along and not give up just yet. I take some solace in the fact that there are people who are a lot worse off than me. I have a nephew with lupus and a bad heart. He has been in the hospital twice this week and almost died both times. His mother(my sister) is taking care of him along with her husband who is in a wheelchair with MS. So I am pretty lucky after all.

BTW, how are you getting along.
