What kind of FELT is this? -Thanks Anyone | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,243 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,243 | Glue some cork to the under side. Felt would work, but make sure it's secure, you wouldn't want it to rub the rockers or you will get fuzzy's all thru the motor.

What is the best thing to use to glue cork on to the underside of the valve cover. I have a chrome cover for my 235, that I haven't put on yet. Thanks John | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 112 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 112 | Will HOT glue gun Or Epoxy work on cork? How about Roll Rubber Stoker gasket,I have a mess of it and it is thicker. THANKS for info. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,378 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,378 | Will HOT glue gun Or Epoxy work on cork? I wouldn't trust it personally. A glue that softens in heat on an engine that gets hot doesn't sound good to me.

It holds gaskets pretty well. Really clean and rough up the surface then clean again with alcohol. You should have any problem with it sticking.

Joe said, "hey son here's what you'll need for your motor, the Chevrolet KOTEX", as he called them. The pad was soaked in oil for a week then fit over the studs holding valve cover down, seamed to help with noise a bit.

There is not even a slight chance I would purposely put a foreign object inside my engine. I made an extreme effort to purposely keep them OUT. | | |
