The rebuilder obtained new valves & guides & charged about $1500 all done for the rebuild. I paid another shop several hundred to pull the front sheet metal then pull and re-stick the engine when done. If you get into the rockers you'll pay several hundred more.

When they went to bore they ran into rust holes from the water jacket. It then had to have sleeves. If you source a good replacement engine you may save costs.
