Window Glass Pattern 1947-Early 1955 Suburban Item Number: WI250 Retail: $9.95 SET I am not sure that the barn door glass can be purchased new, put an ad in the swap meet section for good used glass. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | George, I may be wrong, but I think the rear windows are now offered by someone. I'll need to do some research but I think so. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Alvin, I also thought they were/are available, but I have checked the likely sellers/suspects and cannot find them. Oops, I checked Chevs of the 40s while writing this post). They have 47-55 Suburban side glass and panel-door rear glass. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | ....at $139 each no wonder I forgot who had them. I had the old one that was cracked in half to use as a pattern. It was made from "2 ply" safety glass. Cost me $65. It was a bit more than I expected but not too pricey. I'll eventually have to replace all the side glass as it is really showing it's age.
Just making the point that you can have glass fabricated if you have a useable pattern.
Thanks
Larry
