They are the template. You need to at least make a punchmark from the inside to get position correct.

There are about 4 holes in the re-enforced piece under the cowl so be sure you used the right ones......I have an extra hole in my cowl!! It was only after I stuck my camera up under the dash and snapped a picture that I understood what I did wrong....listen to Brad and the guys, they are "dead on".
With the glove box out you can see the ones on the right side really well.

have not located the second hole as of yet, may try the cell phone camera tomorrow to exactly know what I have under there.
I received the cowl to hole template from Brad, and was hoping to simplify the process by drilling from the top in, but I think for now it might be wiser to remove what needs to be removed allowing me access to those areas and center punch those holes so when drilled they are done right once and for all, thanks go out to Brad Allen for the pictorals and template and to DADS50, Curt B. and Achipmunk for all your help guidance, HUGH | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | There could be a broken stud in the hole or bondo if it was filled. On the drivers side you most likely have existing holes plugged with something, LS mirrors were stock, RS mirrors were option 210G for the short bracket. So it most likely has something in it. | | |
