anyone know if and where I could get a bolt in v8 mount setup for my 46 1/2 ton? if there are any vendors who sell them, I think my 216 is doing the old death rattle in the bottom end, and im having a hard time finding a usable 235 for it

any of the vendors, and probably most local auto parts stores, have universal cross members for that - like this, then you add the correct mounts for the engine you're using

I've used stuff from these guys with good results. You may want to take a look at them. I like several of their motor mounts that work great without a crossmember. Take a look and see what you think.

I bought mine from brothers trucks but it looks like it's probably the exact same one American Classic Trucks has just sold by a different vendor. I bought the kit, engine and tranny, in 2010 on a sale price of $112.49, $24.50 for shipping: http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CETCS59 I haven't installed the kit yet so I can't actually attest to how good it is but it looks like it's well built. The picture shows it sold already welded piece but it comes in 3 pieces so you can shorten it to fit inside your frame rail, boxed or non boxed.

Classic Performance Parts has a universal engine mount kit for around $80 bucks. I used this on a 50 and 55 Chevy truck frame and it worked great. You cut the cross tube to the width of whatever frame you are using. Then slide the ends over the tube then you bolt it to where you want it on the frome. I cut mine to the width i needed, then attached the mounts to the block and set the engine in where i wanted it then marked drilled for the 2 holes on each end then bolted to the frame pretty easy to do.

I used this mount in my 51. a little cutting to fit, weld on the ends and off you go
