I am re- torquing my head bolts - no problem there. But there are six bolts in the head - on the right side of the engine (facing the engine) that go into the head on an angle. What are they and what should they be torqued to?

Thanks-

Six bolts or six bolt holes?

They are not bolts. They are plugs. The holes are used for air injection for emission control.

Thought that too. That's why I asked.

Ah ha!! 1966 Chevrolet Truck Service Manual page 6T-3. Air injector reactor system air manifold assembly goes there! Wrench bender and Drew-P you're a couple of smarties!!! I guess I better not torque them to 95 pounds! Thanks! Tim-o

Be very careful with the left front head bolt. You can snap the corner of the block right off. Reread the manual and make sure its not less at the four corners. I have a block here with the corner broke from being to tight.

Yes. The specks generally show 85 lbs. on the left front bolt.

Stock engine ? Run stock carb. It'll be the most efficient for mpg.

They used the Roch. model B from 63-67 & went to the Monojet in 68. I would run a monojet on any of them for best mileage & Adjustability. The model B works good though.
