I got my 3600 running after six years of it just sitting in the garage! It needs a lot more work but I should be able to get it on the road this year.

Got the bed put together today. Man, that wood and the fenders sure look pretty!
Didn't have the camera with me. I'll post pics Friday when we mount it.

I don't know how to post pics on this forum. Doesn't seem to be any option to do that that I can see.

You have to put them on a hosting site then post a link. I use photobucket.com but there are several others.

Gazz, I would just click on one of our links (mine is also Photobucket) and then go in and open or register your new account. Then start uploading your pictures from your computer. It is easy.
It is more than useful to be able to send pics of a problem you're having as well as being able to post your progress as you move along in your project.

I notched the frame and mounted the gas tank. Hopefully I get the fuel line run tonight. Then the gas pedal and throttle linkage and

Well I fired her up today. I still have to get a radiator for it but had I to replace the heads,intake, carb and dist. Did a quick wiring to start it. I shot two squirts of starting fluid and VAAAROOOM. Made me feel a thousand times better. Went Christmas shopping for my wife but had to come back to the truck and play some more.

I got the drivers door glass back in my 37 today,while I was in there I had to do some welding on the door latch and part it bolts to so all i need to do is install the door panel and then on to going back to a foot stomp starter.

Trip from Nashville to Chattanooga to pick up missing rear park brake parts and rear shock mounts.OEM used parts for me. Now have a spare rear axle. Ordered rear wheel seals, rear wheel cylinder kits, and new park brake cables. Can not seem to find any good used ones.

I finally got her running. I have the rolling chassis pretty much done. I spent a lot of the day building the headers and collectors and mounting the muffler. I hooked up the battery and and jumped the starter wire and it stated almost instantly. I am so glad all of my wiring is correct the first time. Now time to get the cab ready. I bought a cab just for the doors, price was right. Now I have a 50 5 window cab in pretty solid shape. I plan on trying to sell it, and if I have no offers I may just graft the corner windows into my cab.

Finished the door glass installation today and will paint the rebuilt foot stomp starter tomorrow and get it apart.

Completed one cab corner and inner panel replacement on AD cab. Have other corner, right side floor pan, and a bunch of other rot to go. Ugh!

Removed the passenger outside door handle to see why the shaft is spinning.

Looks like the shaft is a press fit. I disassembled, drilled a small hole from the handle in to the shaft, installed a 1/8" roll pin. Reassembled. Will replace handle on the door when I get home from work.

Handle reinstalled. Works like a champ until someone decides to give it a gorilla twist and shear the pin.

Got the foot stomp starter swap finished today,the car starter must have been dragging since I put the motor in since the motor spins much faster now.

Well after fitting up my new power steering pump. I installed my head light buckets lights and threw in a pair of buckets all in the test fit stage.

Since I'll be transporting it back and forth between my shop and the body shop and it is starting to resemble a truck instead of a pile of parts, I reregistered it today. First time it has been registered since 1995!

...works like a good dose of Ex-lax. lol

Played locksmith today. Took my lock cylinders to work and made some keys for them.

Sandblasted the rear bumper brackets.

Ran break lines from master cylinder to proportioning valve had to make my own lines the flaring tools really are not that good split two flares. Finally finished then started smoothing my pass rear fender.

Usually when the flares are splitting its because of the tubing being work hardened. I have seen this happen when using a tubing cutter that you turn to cut it. Sawing the tubing and then cleaning it up with a file works the best.

Thanks for the info Don stocker. I did have a new wheel on my cutter but I will try saw next time.

I rebuilt R.F. brake wheel cylinder that had been leaking. Good brake peddle now! Then decided shop needed a good cleaning, and things put back where they belong. Looks like a shop again instead of a dump site! Then proceeded to start next project.... complete wiring harness and getting all factory gauges to work!

Did it a few weeks ago but i guess it counts.
Finished all the wood trim for my interior. Cedar headliner, door panels and sun visors and some redwood for the wall and floor behind the seat.

....well, I put a "3rd" brake like where the original light went on my left rear door of the panel. It has an LED brake light and a LED tag light and tag bracket all in one piece. Finally got it all hooked up.
I was a little afraid the brake lights I installed UNDER the rear door may be a tat bit low?. So, now I feel better.

Finally back to work on the truck after a 6 month hiatus. Where does the time go? Feels good to be back on it and making progress. Still prepping the frame, got a coat of POR15 on most of it. Hope to be able to get the second coat and some top coat by New Years.

I tried attacking more body work to day. Started smoothing my dash and pass rear fender. Just a slow longgggggggggg process. My radiator has not come in yet so I cant play around with the motor to long. And yes I will be redoing one of my break flares as I notice it leaking on the floor overnight.

E.C., I wish you could be as lucky as me. A fellow in the car club we both belong to has a "hand held hydralic" flaring tool. He came by and did my flares, ran my tranny lines and power steering lines in what seemed like an hour. I had all things ready but it was amazing....plus I used coil line.

Those things are expensive but perhaps you know someone, friend or garage, that may loan you one??
I "practiced" and make many decent ones but just not up to snuff.

I always practice on short pieces then when it comes time to make the real deal.... it goes crooked... ain't it the way? It took me a while, but I got them all done by hand.

Sandblasted the brackets for the rear bumper apron. Painted two of them.

Got the cab mount pads and bolts for my '50 ready for tomorrow. Doesnt sound like much but tomorrow the cab goes on!

Got the final coat of POR 15 on most of the frame and front end parts. Spent some time cleaning up the rear in prep for tear down.

Last item to be stripped out of the dash of my '59 was the windshield wiper... interesting contraption.
I took it apart and found that caked grease from years of sitting up was the cause of it not working.
It's all cleaned up and ready for more years of service!
Progress makes me happy.

I flushed the radiator and the block. Then added new anti-freeze. Although I flushed out the 1955 engine when I put it in there was still some rust and while checking the water level I saw that it needed flushing. one might want to check that out on your truck. Happy New Year to everyone.
