Every one talks about all the different ways to weld a block but nobody ever says anything about brazing. Any thought on this.PS I'm a retired welder and know about cast welding, and brazing. I would like to do it in place, drilling and stoping the crack,(it went from 1 in, to @7in). I'm in the pressoss of rebuilding a 235 for my 3600.....Thanks Paul

I know that brazing a crack in cast iron was common years ago. I think that with new technology other methods have become more popular. I know that my Dad had a Model A that the cylinder head was cracked and had been brazed more than once over the years. It still holds to this day so I don't doubt that it can be done successfully.

I gas welded a final drive case on a good sized bulldozer and it held and that thing was under a lot of stress.
