| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 55 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2007 Posts: 55 | The threads, both female and male are worn, so when I start the 52 half-ton, I have to be careful of the male post falling out onto the floor. If I want to be able to take it on and off while restoration in progress, how do I fix it, to save the old nicely worn-looking original parts. (previous fix, many years ago was to wrap threads with some steel wool and screw it back on.) thanks, Brad | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 1,847 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 1,847 | | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 | Agreed! Simple to do and permanent. Or try to find a used assembly.

I will inspect male side to see if there is enough thread left to screw into helicoil fix?
