Thanks | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 2,393 | Warm engine up a little,put a oil catch pan under the oil pan, screw out the pan plug and oil will drain out. Open the valve cover oil fill cap too on the odd chance vacuum restricts draining. Have an oil filter? Change that too. Refill with fresh, correct weight and grade, and required number of quarts of oil.

While you are changing the oil here is the Lubbication Chart for all the other places you need to keep lubricated ... It is a good investment to get a hard copy of the 1954 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual and 1947-1954 Truck Factory Assembly Manual ... Got any pics of your 54 ?
