Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 14 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 14 | For some reason my clutch and brake pedals have started rubbing against the holes that they go through in the cab, and of course make a horrible screeching noise as they go in and out. The brake pedal has gotten so bad that it tends to get stuck unless you use your foot to pull it back out. Is there some kind of adjustment that I can do to center the pedals in those holes, or do I just make the holes larger? I have no idea why this started all of a sudden. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas! It sounds like the easiest route may be to just make the holes bigger....it's not a show truck by any means, just something fun to putter around in. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | What year truck?

You might have success making the holes larger. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 14 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 14 | It is a '55 Series 1 Chevy. That will quiet the noise and let you regain your sanity so you can get the cab mounts fixed. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 | Mine rub and stick too. Like these guys said, it's the cab mounts. Mine stick a lot more when I have a passenger. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 420 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 420 | that would be you're pedal shaft bushings wore out, I had the same problem with my 46 chevy 1/2 ton, I ordered a set of bushings from american classic truck parts for 18.00 and replaced them and cured the whole problem | | |
