#88548 12/27/2002 9:30 PM | Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 72 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 72 |  howziit Mike! i had the same problem in THE PINK LADY('56 3100 series). although the sender looked new(from the outside), it always showed EMPTY. not wanting to mess with it, i simply replaced the sending unit...and the shoddy wiring. upon inspection, i discovered that the brass float was full of gasoline, but the 30-ohm resistor still worked well.

My sending unit was frozen with rust got it free replaced the float and it works great. Well except the one time I ran out of gas cause I didn't know EXACTLY where empty was! This spring I will ADJUST the float arm!
