Anyone know what heater this is? I've been told it wasn't a factory option, but can anyone shed some light? I'll try and get some more pictures tomorrow. It has this control panel on the left of the steering wheel under the dash, the bottom knob was gone and the middle one disintegrated when I touched it but they all looked the same.

Can you post another picture or two of the heater unit?

Yes im going to go pull it from the truck this afternoon. So i will have pictures up this evening.

Boy, I sure like that control head. Separate setting for De-ice, and de-fog. Super cool!

Don't know what kind it is...have rebuilt a standard, deluxe, and aftermarket box type and never seen one of these.

But it is COOL! Would love to see what you end up doing to it.

It definitely isn't factory, there were bolts holding the heaters itself on then 2 screws holding the part where the heater lines hook up to it and 2 holding the control panel on. I got it all off and took most of it apart. There are absolutely zero logos, part numbers or anything on the units except for where the water lines hook up. My question is exactly how does the heater get warm? I don't see any sort of heater core or a place where it would go. Also one thing that was really cool is it was wired up to the ignition switch and then in the control panel there is a cam lobe that depressed a switch on the backside to turn the motor on, very cool imo. It's definitely going back in the truck after I clean it up. But is anyone knows what it might be or where I can get some new knobs that'd be great since they are all broken now.

Well after googling 1930-1950 heater I finally found what it is out of. It's out of a 1949-1951 chevy sedan!

Where Does that heater draw air from?

Then engine bay I guess? Im still doing more research.

Looking at Brads link It looks like your missing the heat exchanger.

Yep that's what it looks like. I found a factory air flow heater on craigslist for 100 for the entire setup so I will put just putting that in.

I have a similar heater setup I bought last weekend at a swap meet. There is a circular heater core inside on mine.
