What oil do you guys use for the stock transmission and engines?

I use Rotella"T" in my trucks and add ZDDP as well at the recomendation of my engine builder.

what about the transmission?

you should use what ever you feel comfortable with, as you are going to get answers from each ends of the spectrum, and everything in the middle.

Every type of oil you can imagine, someone swears by it, with one consistent factor, they all run. So as long as it is formulated for engine, or transmission use, it should be fine.

Just use off the shelf oils unless you have some special build.

Its not something special. I just thought with such an older trany, the oil would be thicker or something that people don't normally use.
