I have a heater core which has an integral cable operated control valve. The valve itself is leaking. Is this valve available separately from the heater core?I've looked and can't seem to locate a heater core complete with valve or just the valve itself.Any help would be appreciated.

Its probably the Ranco heater control valve which is bolted to the heater core. They have not been reproduced. I had the same issue with my 63 about 6 months ago. There is only 1 guy I know of that rebuilds them....Ill find the address.

heatercontrolvalve.com he does nice work and gives a warranty. Your only option is to go with a different core and an external control valve in your engine bay. He can rebuild it and you can retain all your factory appearance and controls.

The valve is a separate piece. Not available new, but used/nos ones turn up on eBay. There is also a repair kit available from the suppliers that may fix the leak. FYI, the heater core isn't available either, although many suppliers list it. I bought the listed one and had a radiator shop switch the tank on the side with the valve.
