I am rebuilding a "52" 3100 with a cab that needed a fair amount of work. Part way thru my rebuild I found a "48" cab that is rust free and am going to use it. Problem is I have all the weather strips, window channels and glass for my "52" doors including the wing windows rebuilt. There is a difference in the latches between the two years. Will the "52" doors work on my "48" cab or should forget what I have put into them and use the "48" doors.
Thanks

The doors will fit, BUT the door latch & striker plate in the door jam may be different(they changed in 51-52). But I am sure someone here has done the swap & may chime in.

Sounds like a good time to install Altman Easy Latches. . .

I have not done it but it has always been my understanding that if the striker plate matches the same year as the door latch you will be OK.

You can use your doors with the same latches but you'll have to use the earlier striker plate as the newer one will not fit in where the plate goes. Also make sure you test fit your door before you do any painting, that way if you have to trim your cab or door it's before hand. Also make sure that when you are fitting the door that the stiker plate is NOT installed you will just be chasing your tail trying to get it to look right. Anyway I hope this helps. I did the same thing to my 53(twice). Check pics out. Laters
